Amaretto Sour

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Amaretto

  • 1 oz. Lemon Juice

Instructions

Mix 2 oz. Amaretto and 1 oz. lemon juice in a cocktail mixer with ice. Fill an old-fashioned glass or tumbler (or Sour glass) with ice. Strain into the glass and serve. To be more stylish, serve with a maraschino cherry and rim the glass with sugar.
Notes: This is the way to do it if you don't want to use Sour Mix (that stuff is nasty anyway). The Amaretto is sweet enough that you don't need Simple Syrup to balance out the lemon juice . . . besides, a sour is supposed to have bite! In my experience, once you make one of these *everyone* in the room will want one, so make sure you have enough lemon juice and at least a full bottle of Amaretto, if not two.
