Whiskey Sour

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Bourbon Whiskey

  • 1.5 oz. Lemon Juice

  • 1 oz. Simple Syrup

Instructions
Mix 2 oz. of Bourbon or Tennessee whiskey with 1.5 oz. of lemon juice and 1 oz. of Simple Syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Take an old-fashioned glass or tumbler (or, if you've got it, a Sour glass) and fill it with ice. Strain the contents of the mixer into the glass. Serve! For extra flair, add a lemon slice, maraschino cherry, and rim the glass with cane sugar.

Notes: This is pretty much the "real" way to make a whiskey sour, barring egg whites, because honestly, using sour mix is for wimps and lazy bartenders. And seriously, using lemon juice and simple syrup just tastes better. You can use either bourbon (Maker's Mark is my personal recommendation) or Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey, because it's more or less bourbon that's been filtered once more. Either way tastes absolutely delicious!
